From April 4th to 6th, the hometown of The Sewing Box hosted the third edition of the yarn festival Sevilla Teje — a beautiful reunion filled with hugs, conversations and, above all, deep emotion.

Seeing you again, and admiring garments made by your hands — pieces born from the talent of amazing designers and now living within the pages of a book — was simply a gift. This time, we also had the pleasure of presenting our two latest editions (both published in Spanish): En Busca del Color and Amigurumis e Imaginancias.

Presentation of En Busca del Color

Let us tell you how this book began to take shape.

It was, curiously, during the previous edition of Sevilla Teje that our editor, after discovering the incredible work behind every skein of hand-dyed yarn, decided to pay tribute to those who transform blank thread into pure emotion: the dyers.

One year later, and in collaboration with Susana De Méndez (one of the organisers of Sevilla Teje and a knitting and crochet instructor), that tribute came to life. On Friday, April 4, we presented En Busca del Color surrounded by many of its protagonists: dyers who brought its pages to life through designs made with their hand-dyed skeins.

Each one shared the soul behind their creative process, helping us see skeins for what they truly are: authentic works of art.

A book filled with 25 colorful patterns, heart, and soul.

Presentation of Amigurumis e Imaginancias

This festival gave us another unforgettable moment: the presentation of the first book by Mel from Gallimelmas e Imaginancias.

Mel invited us to walk through her journey as a designer and introduced us to the characters that bring her book to life: a hen, a capybara, a teddy bear, two kittens, a fox, a dog, an elephant, a mole, a bunny… and also a bag, a cushion, and a pencil case shaped like adorable animals.

Amigurumis e Imaginancias is not just a delightful collection of amigurumis — it also opens the door to techniques like tapestry crochet and embroidery, which you’ll learn through the book and can later apply to other projects like bags, t-shirts, or shawls.

We’d love to share a quote from Mel that truly touched our hearts:

“Crocheting brings calm. It makes you feel capable. It helps you share, and feel proud of what you create.”

Thank you for continuing to create alongside us.
See you at the next gathering… or among the pages of a new book.
